Eichler Kitchen Remodel
A restoration and renovation of a 1964 original Eichler Home required thoughtful planning during the design process. Updates were made to bring the home up to modern day standards of efficiency and functionality, while incorporating a design aesthetic in keeping with mid-century modern style.
Eichler Dining Room
Original Eichler home details were reinstated throughout the home, from spans of glass windows to rich wood paneling. A mix of materials: concrete, wood, and tile help ground the space. Custom Walnut paneling, a Nelson bubble lamp, Saarinen dining table, vintage Danish and Herman Miller shell chairs used to round out the room.
3D subway-inspired wall tile, white solid surface counter, and Walnut cabinet were materials used in this restoration project to bring life to this Eichler home.

From Blog to Design Services
Destination Eichler started as a design blog for homeowners Karen Nepacena and John Shum to chronicle their journey renovating a mid-century modern Eichler home in Northern California. Their home renovation projects and blog chronicles gained attention and soon the couple began taking on clients who were attracted to their modern design aesthetic and focus on mid-century modern architecture. Fast-forward a few years, Destination Eichler transitioned from an online blog into a full service Walnut Creek interior design firm helping homeowners visualize and transform their homes.
Destination Eichler, LLC is a Walnut Creek-based interior design firm offering design services, from furniture and accessory selection and color consultation, to design concept creation (2D/3D renderings) and full home renovation/restoration consultation services.
